KUCHING, 11 April 2022 - Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg received a courtesy call by a delegation from Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA) and Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) led by Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ngiam Shih Chun (Fifth from right) at his office Wisma Bapa Malaysia this morning.
During the meeting, they discussed on the potential of Sarawak in term of future projects in green and hidrogen technology, energy and environmental sustainability, included discussion of the future path for shared renewable energy resources for the region.
Sarawak Energy, Malaysia’s largest renewable energy developer, is part of a consortium with Sembcorp Industries and SP Group undertaking a feasibility study to explore a potential power interconnection between Singapore and Sarawak.
Among those present at the courtesy call at the Premier’s Office, Wisma Bapa Malaysia were Datuk Haji Julaihi Haji Narawi, Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Datuk Dr Haji Abdul Rahman Haji Junaidi, Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication (Utility) and Dr Haji Hazland Abang Hipni, Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability.
